EJ Poplawski to make amputee history with the XT9 ESPK!

EJ Poplawski, one of SymbioTechs USA’s sponsored XT9 athletes will be using the XT9 to compete in the first adaptive snocross to be held as part of the winter X-Games.  Snocross, a snowmobile form of motocross involves the same speed, excitement and big air hang time with more horse-power and a bigger stead!

EJ_sledEJ has been invited to participate in this first ever X-Games event along with five other competitors.  Last season the X-Games introduced monoski-cross, a downhill competition where mono-skiers battle for first place through the same jumps and turns as snowboard-cross racers.  The competition earned the highest ratings of the entire X-Games event!  This year the adaptive snowmobile-cross (commonly referred to as snocross) holds even greater expectations.

EJ will be competing against Monster Mike Schultz, a pro snocross champion who suffered injuries that lead to an above knee amputation in Dec. 2008, as well as other seasoned snocross competitors.

While EJ has plenty of experience on a mountain sled, he was forced to scramble for a qualified race sled that he could use for this competition.  This has left EJ with very little time to adjust to a new snowmobile and even less time to train on an actual snocross track.  But that hasn’t stopped EJ from putting his full resources and focus toward achieving a top finish at the X-Games and adding another historic accomplishment the long list of XT9 firsts!

You can read more at espn.go.com and watch the action unfold on Saturday, January 31 on ESPN between 12:00 pm and 5:30 pm (check local listings in your area).

We are proud to support EJ in his ambitions and accomplishments.  Good luck EJ!
