Speed of Life -- Extreme Snowboarder Journey... the Amy Purdy story
Amy Purdy, co-founder of AAS -Adaptive Action Sports- shares her story of going from pro-snowboarder/fashion model to double amputee super star! Amy and her fiance Daniel founded one of the best adaptive sports programs we have come across, Adaptive Action Sports. They have many exciting programs from beginner to advanced to help amputees reach the same levels Amy has reached in snowboarding, surfing, skating and other alternative sports requiring adaptive prosthetics and equipment such as the XT9 Energy Storing Prosthetic Knee and other prosthetic devices.
Craig Demartino
My good friend Craig Demartino in a new film about how he lost his leg, and rose up from the hospital bed and on to become the first amputee to climb El Capitan in under 24 hours (under 15 in fact) and become the eXtremity Games Rock Climbing World Champion just last year. I'm not actually sure if it shows those two accomplishments, but that's what he's done and I know it shows you how he was able to face the hardships and go on to accomplish these great things and others.
